Re: how to be a freelancer

Well, hiring someone to redesign my personal website doesn't seem like a good investment, it should be simply a place to list my experience, latest work and maybe even a blog. Also because when I'm paying for something I'm really picky (just like my clients are) and I'd end up having to pay you a lo...

Re: how to be a freelancer

Not stopping code is a very good idea indeed Everah but I suck terribly at attempting to design anything and most clients will look for a 'nice' looking portfolio. That kind of limits me somehow and I end up doing just code, no design at all (I can do front end though, XHTML / CSS). So whenever you'...

I was quite interested in the discussion since I have a very similar problem as well. I'm from Western Europe and, to be completely honest, I don't see myself getting a local job because people here take advantage. Unemployment is a really big problem and if you don't work that extra weekend and put...

Looking into JSON seems like a good idea, I can use it in a wide variety of other languages (apparently there already is software to complement most languages to use JSON).

XML also seems quite useful for this so I haven't really decided yet.

Thanks for all your help.

Well the reason was that I'm guessing serialize() isn't really compatible with any other languagues (say C#, ASP.NET, etc...). If this is true, the data will be available for PHP and PHP only, which isn't really intended (later on I'm probably going to need to get these permissions from a C# applica...

Administration user permissions

Hey everyone. I'm building an administration panel for a website which has a lot of functionality and is going to be managed by quite a few people. I ran into a bit of a problem as the best way to make user permissions (which are editable) work. Not everyone will have access to the entire admin pane...

As far as I know, hitting Enter will be the same as clicking the next submit button (on the HTML code). So basically if your structure is something like: <form field> <submit1> <submit2> Enter will be the same as <submit1>. Can't be absolutely sure this is the exact same behaviour for every browser ...

That was a fun, yet, very frustrating game.

The animations smurf me off haha

I did solve the puzzle in like 10 mins (didn't really count them).

Good stuff.

Subdomains with Apache

Hello everyone. I'm using a web server with Apache and I need to redirect the users from http://username.domain.com to http://www.domain.com/view.php?u=username. My problem right now isn't the rewrite rule, I am simply unable to open any page (as in, if I type http://randomness.domain.com I get no p...

[For HIRE] - (X)HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL developer

My name is André Ferreira and I'm currently looking for a freelance or full time job. I have a good amount of experience in front end coding using (X)HTML / CSS (standards compliant) and also some very good experience in PHP / SQL (I've been a full time PHP / SQL developer for the last 2 - 3 months,...

Hi kasrak. I've been to your site and I've noticed that when you view a profile page. When you click the link to send that user a PM, there's an extra forwardslash on the URL that just redirects you to your inbox.

Just thought I should help. thanks for the great site.
