i'm not sure about the IPN but paypal seem to be limiting the accounts of a lot of mmorpg owners and players over the last couple of months. I would advise using another service that allows you to be involved in online gaming without the constant threat of your account being limited. If you want to risk losing any money in your paypal account and losing business from not being able to process payments, by all means use paypal. whatever you do, dont keep more than you need in your paypal account if you cant afford to lose it

What do you mean limiting accounts? And what are some other good credible payment processors?

Placing restrictions on them so you cannot transfer money out of your account but you can still accept payments so they get more money if they close your account. take a look at http://www.aboutpaypal.org to find out some of the things they do. Alternatives that i'd suggest are google checkout or free-merchant. I doubt either of those are perfect but at least if they try closing your account they cant say 'online gaming is against our acceptable use policy'

Prohibited Activities
You may not use the PayPal service for activities that:

... . .. ... .

6. involve gambling, gaming and/or any other activity with an entry fee and a prize, including, but not limited to casino games, sports betting, horse or greyhound racing, lottery tickets, other ventures that facilitate gambling, games of skill (whether or not it is legally defined as a lottery) and sweepstakes unless the operator has obtained prior approval from PayPal and the operator and customers are located exclusively in jurisdictions where such activities are permitted by law.

Other than those, just go to your bank, they will have an online payment processing service. Have people send money directly to your bank account.

You should realize that this is a very controversial area, where claims are being made on both sides. The link dave1909 provided is evidently sponsored by one of PayPal's competitors. I advise you to research the claims yourself before deciding anything. Here's another thread on the topic: http://www.friendsinbusiness.com/board1 ... ead/150560.

That and I dont do business with Google after they closed my adsense account with lots of cash in it. Google has no customer support, very disappointing.

I dont know about their sponsors, I just got screwed over by paypal and came across the site. I was merely stating that a lot of mmorpg owners have experienced the same in the past few months and advising Dynex not to take the risk
