Wordpress Top Menu/Header

I'm pretty new to php but am able to understand it somewhat. I just started a new blog with wordpress at http://www.101reasonsto.com. Here's what I want done.
I tried adding Updates via RSS/Email in the header (similar to http://www.frugaldad.com), but when I did this, it was overlapping with the right border, so when I moved it to the left, it dropped down to the next line. Is there a solution for this, or should I just add rss to the menu?
I want the menu to have these links: Home, About, Contact Us, Subscribe (if not in header), link to my most popular post, and search. I'm not sure how to get Home, RSS, and a link to a popular post up there. Also, I've created several pages on Wordpress that are trying to show up in the menu that I don't want up there. They're set to private now, but how can I choose which pages I don't want to show in the menu?
Any help's appreciated. I can provide any code that's needed. Thanks.
