Which Framework Cake or Joomla

Hello all,

Firstly I am not a developer, I am more of a business analyst with some historic programming experience (vb6).

I have designed a CRM system for our company that essentially manages the relationship between 4/5 different roles of user ( client, supplier, introducer, etc ). There is a lot of emphasis on useability and in particular a very functional grid. There is also a requirement to create documentation (PDF's) dynamically. The system will be a backend/admin system and the the need for management of content is limited to a few on screen instructions and some of the wording in the PDF's. Being inhouse/backend there is no requirement for SEO.

My query is which MVC framework would be most suitable? Or for system as described how much does it matter when either Cake and Joomla are the options?

TO re-iterate the emphasis is good useability eg speed, eays to use intuitive UI.

Any thoughts?

Cake is a framework and Joomla is a CMS. You can build whatever you want with Cake. Take a look a Joomla and see if how it organizes things and its administration area are what you want.
