Question
I'm totally new to Web design and PHP. I just set up my site with their PHP Nuke site and I'm having problems. I don't know if this is the place to aske for help but I'm at a loss. Whenever anyone tries to create a new account it send them an e-mail with the incorrect path. If you add the correct path to the email it allows the user to be created. Is there something that I'm doing wrong, a setting or anything? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
phpnuke has its own community. It's likely you get answers more quickly there
http://phpnuke.org/modules.php?name=Community
To speed things up a bit you should include what version of phpNuke you're using, how the link looks like now and what it should be.
btw: Did you configure your site by going to admin.php as mentioned in INSTALL? The site info can be edited in the preferences section

I've checked every configuration that I can see possible. I had a new person register and they were told to follow
http://www.johnfpratt.com/modules.php?n ... 28b86f3a18
but the correct path to my php is http://johnfpratt.com/ipw-web/portal/cms/
so if i add that into the link before /modules it works just fine.
I've contacted Ipowerweb, my hosts and they either don't know what the problem is, or are just giving me the run around. I can enter users manually though and they work just fine. I don't know, I just figured I had the wrong path, but that didn't help any. Thanks for your help though.

then what did you set Site URL: in your preferences to?
http://johnfpratt.com or http://johnfpratt.com/ipw-web/portal/cms?
http://johnfpratt.com or http://johnfpratt.com/ipw-web/portal/cms?
as far as I can see from the code the site url must be the url to your nuke-basedir.
Try http://johnfpratt.com/ipw-web/portal/cms
Try http://johnfpratt.com/ipw-web/portal/cms
Yeah, I guess I didn't think of that. It's just that it asked for the Domain Name, so I put johnfpratt.com Then where it said Script path, it asks for the path where phpBB2 is located relative to the domain name, so I put ipw-web/portal/cms there.
I'll have to try it out and see what happens. I'm running out of e-mails to test it on though, since you can only use each once. Thanks for your help too.

That's the thing, if I go to users, the account isn't there. I can create accounts through the admin section, they just can't do it on their own by responding to the e-mail they get. Since the email gets a 404 error, no account is created. If I try and create another account using the same e-mail, it says it's in use already.
I'll have to mess around with this more, it's really starting to irritate me. I know it just has to be a setting somewhere, and it will all be simple once I find out what it is.

setting the whole path in "site url", i.e. http://localhost/nuketest/html, I get working links within the emails
