JetPack hacker issues - work around?

Hi

I've learnt today that JetPack has been widely used by hackers, and that there are a number of workarounds to still be able to use it, while not being prone to this problem.

does anyone know the issue, and better yet, the solution?

ie. are there are other good plugins that do what jetpack does, or is there a work around to still use JP, but not have it open to the problems?

What vulnerabilities are you referring to? Jetpack is a bit of a kitchen sink, but there are certainly plugins that will tackle separate bits of the functionality. Do you use all the functionality it provides? Anything in specific you need to maintain?

The two things we use are the method where you can put thre "sharing" icons below each post.
And the biggest is where you can tell it (fairly easily I might add) to what social media outlets you want your post to be pubicize. We use (overall):
Google+
Facebook Page
Twitter
LinkedIn

Think that's it.

Tons of options for the former. http://www.bloggingwizard.com/top-wordp ... gins-2014/

I'm sure plugins exist for the latter as well, it's just not something I've personally worked with
