Personally, if I were to use a wysiwyg editor, then I would opt for Frontpage; it's a lot faster than Dreamweaver. However, I only ever use a wysiwyg editor when I am making tables; but even then, you have to go into the code every 2 mins to edit what the program has just done :\

So I stick with good 'ol Notepad; although I would be interested in downloading a PHP editor, might come in useful.

I've always used Metapad (in Windows) and Gedit (in Linux). Seemed to me that the only way to learn the structure of HTML and PHP was to type it out myself, correct the goofs I make and learn from my mistakes. I've never actually tried a WYSIWYG editor so I can't really comment on what they can or can't produce.
