i dont think its that people did not know the answer to your questions.
its usually that you just arent asking the right question


theres some stickies at the top of this forum, read them all, and the links posted in the threads.
it may take some of your time to read it all, but i am positive you will be able to use forums
to help yourself MUCH more effectively after reading them.

thanks for the advice rehfel - I think my last email came across in the wrong way - this forum has been absolutely fantatsic and there are sooo many helpfull people - I have learnt more here in a week than I learnt at the week long course My University sent me on which cost £1600 for 5 days.

But I Will definately take on yr advice and raed through yr suggestions

as you are already working at the university i think you're better off with some courses on algorithms and datastructures... once you've done those, it's only a matter of finding the most appropriate function in the manual(s).
