Some strange session thing... [solved]

Post by php_wiz_kid »

Does anybody know what this means?

Warning: Unknown: Your script possibly relies on a session side-effect which existed until PHP 4.2.3. Please be advised that the session extension does not consider global variables as a source of data, unless register_globals is enabled. You can disable this functionality and this warning by setting session.bug_compat_42 or session.bug_compat_warn to off, respectively. in Unknown on line 0

I'm not sure what it's trying to tell me. I would rather fix the problem then turn off the functionality and warning.

The problem was that I have a function called make_null() which sets variables to null. Well, the problem with that is you can't set $_SESSION variables to null after 4.2.0 so I switched the null keyword in the function to an empty string. At least this what I think the problem was after reading some manuals and docs.
