OS Commerce - Pricing per country

Post by hairyjim »

HI all,

If this is in the wrong forum, I apologise. No idea where best to put it.

I have posted on the OS Commerce forums on several occasions and advice has been limited. I guess most of the experienced php'ers already have forums they regularly visit and don't check the OS Commerce that often.

I need the help and advice from someone who has used and is perhaps familiar with OSC.

I am looking for advice on what I would need to change in OS Commerce so instead of prices being calculated based on the exchange rate I am able to enter seperate prices per country.

I am only ever going to offer GBP, Eur & US Dollar

Thanks
Jim

I don't have a direct answer to your question, but a piece of advise: don't use OSCommerce. The project is dead, insecure and badly supported. The successor, Zen Cart, is somewhat better in that the forums are more active. The code of both is horrendous, so no, it's not necessarily a question of knowing PHP to get either to do what you want, but to throw yourself into labyrinth of a jungle of horrendous code.

In short: OSCommerce was probably great 3 years ago, Zen Cart is more active.

Unfortunatly I am a little too far down the road to change my choice.

I have a go live at the end of July, it would take me an age to get to where I am now with a different solution.

I will certainly take your advice and absorb it.
