PHP on PWS with Win98

Post by TwinkiE_HunteR-G »

Ok, im not sure if this is exactly the right place for this, so if its not, please excuse and disregard...

I installed PHP 4.2.1 a while ago using PWS on a Win98 machine. Ever since then it has been freezing for about 30 seconds whenever I use any explorer-type interface (Explorer, WinZip, etc) to browse through any directory with a php file. I didnt think of it it until recently that the explorer is trying to parse the file, even though I have view as webpage off. I may be way off, but this is the only explanation I can think of. It also does the same every now and then whenever I view a php website with mozilla/ie.

Has anyone else had this problem, or similar, or could anyone lend any advice to what I can do to fix it?

If this is the wrong place to put this, please email me.

Thanks a million.

Have you tried disabling PWS??

Only a thought..

better yet, uninstall PWS, and put Apache on.

Well, the only problem with using apache, I would love to, but I dont know much about it and I am using a work computer. If I had an internet connection at home I would love to learn to use apache, but I only have a few docs and they are way outdated (at home).

So thanks anyway.
