is there any way to read cookies not from my own site? like if there is a cookie from another site set on a computer, is it possible to write a script to view that cookie?

Yes. XSS attack. This would require the user on the other computer to complete an action.
Set Search Time - A google chrome extension. When you search only results from the past year (or set time period) are displayed. Helps tremendously when using new technologies to avoid outdated results.

You will not find help for that here.

I fail to see any legitimate reason for wanting to view another sites cookies. (except with the slight chance of multiple domains or multiple site logins, both of which have other ways round it.)
