Help needed in passing a variable to a function?

Posted: Mon Nov 28, 2005 8:32 pm

I have been given the following code to create a calendar, it works great except

I can't work out how to get the calendar code to read a variable from the previous php page and then include the variable in the calendar results....

page 1 creates a variable called $ordernumber and passes it along to page 2

page 2 contains the code for the calendar

a href=page2.php?ordernumber=1

This is the code for the calendar, I have marked WHERE I need the variable to appear, this is probalbly something very basic but I just can't get it to work

this is what I used to mark where in the code I need the ordernumber
///////////////////// ORDER NUMBER NEEDS TO BE IN THE FOLLOWING LINK //////

Many thanks in advance

Code: Select all

$s .= '<a href="page2.php?ordernumber='.(int)$_GET['ordernumber'].'">'.$d.'</a>';
To access variables from the url use $_GET, although you should never trust any user input, ever.
The simplest thing I suggest is to cast it to an integer like I have done above..

I would recommend researching sanitization though.

thank you

I will try your suggested answer, tomorrow

The order number I am trying to insert is generated by a database :)

and the script/s will only be used inhouse by our staff so I kind of trust them
or
"Your Fired" and I'll delete their login

Thanks a bunch
