Zend vs. Ioncube

Post by seodevhead »

I purchased a very nice php script online and I have the option to download the installation in either Zend or Ioncube. My server is capable of both and was wondering which one is superior... and perhaps what the benefits/advantages are with one compared to the other. Thanks for the help!

If you can, download both, and then run load tests on your server to see which one runs better.

Good idea.. but I really don't have the time nor the knowledge to really get anything from a load test (not even sure what that entails)... If the difference is negligable, then I'll just pick one by random.. but I was just wondering if anyone had any preferences.

Well, I'd go with Zend, just for the virtue of being "the" PHP company. But don't ask me: I've never used an encoded script before.
