Att: Jason (webbie) - configuring Apache 2 with PHP 4

Post by Fari »

Hi there

I'd suggest starting a STICKY thread to explain the painless installation of PHP 4.2.X with Apache 2 - wasted a day tring various versions of PHP until bumped into this on the on0line help page :

the latest stable development version. Get the source code http://snaps.php.net/php4-latest.tar.gz or download binaries for windows http://snaps.php.net/win32/php4-win32-latest.zip.

even then I had to mix php.ini files until found the right combination!!! this is applicable Win2000 - Apache 2.0.43 - PHP 4.4.0 combination with PHP loaded as a module. No other combination actually worked!

If anyone needs help drop me a line! have SOLID experience in configuring Apache with PHP.

Cheers - Fari

excellent idea. sounds like you know your Apache/PHP. while the Sticky is a good idea, the experience needed to write such a thread might be a bit limited here. if you or anyone elese feels up to the task, just let an Admin or a Moderator know and we'll see what we can do.
