I don't think there's anyone here that doesn't know the answer to your question (Google is pretty easy to use, after all).

Let's look at what's happened:
  • You needed to know something
  • Rather than doing some research yourself, you decided to come and ask other people
  • You couldn't be bothered to read the forum rules, and broke more than one of them with your first post
  • The first reply contained the answer to your question, you were just too lazy to follow the advice
  • Because you couldn't be bothered to read the rules yourself, helpful old JayBird posted the topic rule where you would see it
  • You had a dig at the posters for not 'helping'
  • Jcart patiently expained why you were wrong to do so
  • You got on your horse, and didn't get off
Seriously, mate - if you can't see how you're in the wrong here then you need more than help with PHP.

Come on guys, calm down.

@influenceuk: i spend about 70% of my time here moving, deleting, editing posts here and only about 30% of the time helping people.

The rule post is just a pointer, if we were REALLY bad we would ban you for you first rule break, but we are not. I don't generally have time to compose lengthy replies giving new members pointers on how to do things.

If i didn't tell you on your first post, would you have continued in the same vain. Just nipping it in the bud for the everyones sake.

So to sum up, it wasn't a telling off, just a friendly pointer so we are all singing off the same hymn sheet.

Simple huh :D

I agree with CoderGoblin just lock the topic.

but to Grim...
- I did research, i just was unsure of how to do stuff.
- I did use google, thus i ended up here and decided to ask for help.
- finally i did not have a dig at them for not helping, seeing as i did say thanks to ptrpan for guiding to a site to help.

if you see my other post, which CoderGoblin helped out alot with, i can't see any reason to why i should even be considered being banned for!

I just feel like i have been attacked for being new to 1- this forum, and 2- this programming language (PHP & MySQL)

And with comments like
"Can you either ban him", "maybe his lunchtime enema went badly" and being called a "jerk" i cant see how its helped this thread. Its just turned into a playground.

Jay, please lock or delete the thread. I cant see the point in contiuing it any longer.
And as i said i was in a rush, look at my other thread!

Cool!

Certainly no attack from me.

I will lock this thread now and look forward to reading your (correctly titled) posts in the future...hehehe
