Dunno if this has been asked before or addressed

Post by Tyofcore »

Im realtivly new to php and mysql I have a friend that set it up on our server, we are using Mysql 4.1.15nt, client version 5.0.11, things seem for the most part to be running fine, meaning our forums are running and you can view the threads and all, but Ive noticed a few issues between IE and Firefox, as far as being able to view different areas of the forums.

Like right now if you go to register with IE itll go into the birthday check, then when you hit the continue button itll load up a white page, says the name of the page, just not able to view it, where as in firefox you can go through the entire register process.

If i knew what codes to actually post up for you to look at then I would, but like I stated above I'm above Noob to all this, I have html knowledge, but this is a new system of codes I need to learn.

Ive checked the new register.php code thats inplace now, and its identical to the back up copy we made when we were transfering to the new server. I think that its something minor but really dont know enough to make all the necessary fixxes. Any comment on the issues between IE and Firefox will be appreciated, and any other Info that can assist me in this, is also appreciated.

If this is posted in the wrong area, i appoligze aswell due to the fact that im new on the forums also

Can you post a link so we can see where this is taking place? Without code it is hard to tell, but maybe we can take a stab if we can see what you are seeing.

Off topic: As soon as I saw "shard", it brought back so many memories of playing UO. Countless hours mining ore to make armor, countless assignments went undone from school. Oh the memories!

On topic: I'll see what I can figure out :)

I use FF too, and it didn't do it for me. Not that I want it to.

When the link is fixed I'll see about taking a look at it.

Im behind the network here at my place so i cant go out of it, then try to reconnect to my own static IP, so i was in a rush to type the url to it, also side note im testing some new memory and its rebooting the server box. anyway here the URL again

http://www.tdsuo.com/board/Index.php

this should work for you now, unless this memory stick is bad, then its just rebooting the server back

ya Moose Uo lol its kinda like addictive when your on the other side of administration, right now i dont have much time to enjoy the game, having to deal with all the issues running it causes.

I am not experiencing this with IE6. Both clicking the button and hitting enter when in a field takes me to the next screen.

I really have no desire for another forum account. Perhaps this might best be taken up with the guys over at IPB?

It's actually no big deal Everah...you'll see the error before any of the major info-collecting forms. All you do is enter a birthdate, hit submit, check a box, hit submit, and voila! - "This program cannot display the web page." Which isn't surprising since we're talking about IE. It should have a message on every page you look at that says "This program cannot display the web page...properly."

I managed to get all the way to the part where it asks for my information last time. That is why I said I was not experiencing that problem.
