hi all, just discovered this forum , this may not be the right area but i will give it a go as it involve a shopping cart site ...

i have to set up a demo for a client (i have recently started in the webdesign industry)

i have a client that sells custom car covers, he has been given a selector from his supplier, basically this selector allows the customer to go through several menu's to pick the right year/modal/make/color/pattern, etc (this is a similar thing as i see on car insurance website, allow you to get the right car to insure )he/she clicks away till they get to the exact specs for his/her car, then there is a continue button which needs to point back to the main site.

Now, what i need to do is put the whole selector thing in a lightwindow or similar, i shouldn't have any problems with that, but what i don't know is that when the customer click the last continue button the window has to close and the results show in the customers shopping cart, oh, and the window has to open when needed to of cause. i would say that when the customer clicks a product to buy it the window can come up then for tem to make the choices...

so if anyone can make any sense on what i have just said and suggestion on how i should go about this i would really appreciate it...

cheers...

not much help here...

no matter, i figured it all out myself with a little ajax and it works brilliantly...

i am able to have a product on a page ,the user clicks it, and an ajax powered window opens with a product selector , the user goes through the process to get the part id, hits buy now, the page jumps away from the ajax window direct to a shopping basket...
