I wouldn't recommend it, I hosted a script for scrotaye that did some myspace stuff that all we did was link to their pages, no automated scripts..
2 weeks later myspace sent me a cease and desist ( in the mail )saying were running automated scripts. We did generate $20,000 in ad revenue during the 2 weeks it was online though.

8.22 any automated use of the system, such as, but not limited to, using
scripts to add friends or send comments or messages;
8.23 interfering with, disrupting, or creating an undue burden on the MySpace Services or the networks or services connected to the MySpace Services;
do what you want though, you're obviously a lawyer or something.
6.4 The MySpace Services contain Content of MySpace ("MySpace Content"). MySpace Content is protected by copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret and other laws, and MySpace owns and retains all rights in the MySpace Content and the MySpace Services. MySpace hereby grants you a limited, revocable, nonsublicensable license to reproduce and display the MySpace Content (excluding any software code) solely for your personal use in connection with viewing the MySpace Website and using the MySpace Services.

nothing, its only illegal if you get caught right? I'm sure noones ever said what you just said and then gone to jail for what they were saying it about. Atleast admit youre breaking the law and stop justifying your actions with logical fallacies.

( since I have done what you are trying to do, and gotten caught.. I happen to know that the way their terms are worded, they can essentially equate your "service" with a denial of service attack, and if they wanted hold you accountable for bandwidth, loss of business, attorneys fees, etc.. ). Realistically are you going to get caught? Probably not until after you make a bunch of money... are you willing to accept jail as a career risk?

With the other 100 websites just like it... didn't think it would be a problem. I will go ahead and contact myspace to make sure... but I didn't see an issue or otherwise they would've already asked the other 100 websites doing the same thing to cease and desist! Right!

100s of people rob banks, but thats not an issue right? otherwise the police would have asked them to stop.
i could care less about myspace, im not arguing the morals. I'm just stating you're in violation of their corporately enacted laws. Corporations run america. The law isn't just words, those words cause police officers to show up at your door. Perhaps I am wrong, but I think asking them would be a good start... I'm sure they allow people .. who get express consent, thats key. that means you get consent BEFORE you do it, not after the letter shows up at your door and you have a court date & litigation.
