Hi All,
This is my first ever post.... It seems that i have stumbled upon a fantastic PHP programmers community. Thanks in advance.
So here is the deal. I am currently developing an application where a user submits various information in steps. I have come to stop due to my inexperience on this technical requirement. This is where you guys come in. Once the user has entered their information and have accepted the visual representation of the entered information I then require that the user pays a fee before the final product becomes available to them. I need help finding a payment system that functions like this.....
1) user accepts graphical representation (information then goes into database pending payment).... onto payment step
2) payment system (this and all proceeding steps i need help on)
3) a. If user pays then direct them to the final step where they receive the final product and tag database as payment received
b. If user does not successfully complete payment do not proceed... show payment required page or similar error. do not tag db.
These are the final requirements for the project and I'm just about ready to start pulling some hair because i cant figure it out.
Thanks again!

Re: Ecommerce / Shopping cart questions
I thought about the same, and when I did some googling and stuff, i came to answer the question. Why would anyone wanna start from scratch? Friend, have you looked at some tested scripts like osCommerce, Virtuemart and stuff like that ? I don't know for others, but for me... I want to make sure that a script has been run for a lot of years... specially shopping carts...
I was looking for something short like a digital delivery for Paypal and it turns out that FREE is impossible for that one.
I wish i could help.
Bye

Re: Ecommerce / Shopping cart questions
I have not looked into any osCommerce or anything like that only because I have never dabbled into any ecommerce scripts, systems, or anything of that nature accept for Paypal.... The client has requested Paypal but I'm not sure if this can do what is required. Paypal and the "Sandbox" system hasn't worked out well for me in the past. Anyways thanks for the quick reply.
Any other suggestions All? I am looking for the best, most secure approach to this requirement. Thanks again.

Re: Ecommerce / Shopping cart questions
i've used oscommerce for a few projects and found it quite good and fairly easy to write mods for, however more recently I've had big headaches with getting it to work with google checkout. So if I were to be starting anouther commerce project I would look at Zen Cart or Magento.
I'm keen to here what others who have used it think of those two aswell.
