ok ill try that and let you know if that helped.but for the menu botton i will be replacing it afterward when i edit it in sharepoint.
No.My uncle is the it administrator there and he's suppose to do the site but he doesnt know anyting about web design so im just helping him out when i finish the layout i will show him how to update the site by himself if theres any updates.

thanx alot macinfo that realy help me out you know i did like you said iv remove the area i was puting for the search box flaten the layer add changed the way ive slice the layer into and sliced it in to fewer parts the slice the part wer i will be inserting the search box.so when i add the form now and put the backgound now all flows into eachother no more white space around it.so now it looking great ill have to work on my html part now :P :P .so now for my search page im still not sure wich script would best fit my need which one do you sugest? a database driven one or an indexer that would spider my page?ive never use the spider one before but im always happy to try and learn new technics.

oh thats a google search applet right which use google to index a search on my page but thats not what i wanted in mind because the problem with that google script is that when it doesnt find any maching keyword in your site it will show you other from the web. ive once try that with a google java search script.theres lots of site that i see today that have there own internal search engine you can even search for documents in it. i wonder what kind of script they using. the problem with the search my sql i dont know if i will be able to attache documents such as pdf file. to table in my database which i dont think is posible unless im wrong right :?:

so the script will find any keyword on the site which i tell the script to search like for example like if i say search index.html and service.html it will search key word or just hyperlinks?if it search only hyperlinks cant i modified the script to search keyword to? :?:
