does anyone have any suggestions on good beginner's php books? I am not a total beginner to the field of programming or html. I have taken QBASIC (long time ago) and Visual Basic. As far as scripting languages go, I know html extremely well, and have dabbled with css. If anyone can help me out by recommending a good php book with the background that I have, I would be very much obliged.

Something I found useful when I was getting into PHP was "MySQL/PHP Database Applications" by Jay Greenspan and Brad Bulger.
It's project-oriented and you learn about PHP as you go along. Might be a bit dated now - I think it came out around 2000 or so.
