CSS: Book Review (Core CSS)

Post by nigma »

I was recently browsing Powells technical section and found a new CSS book called Core CSS. The price was a little hefty, $49.99, so I decided to see if any of the CSS enthusiasts who hang out around here have anything to say about the book before I spend the money?

Book Title: Core CSS
Publishing Company: Prentice Hall
ISBN: 002-4201485-6088043

Amazon's price: $29.99, here is the link: Core CSS: Cascading Style Sheets (2nd Edition). I'll take a look to the reviews and reply later.

Cheers,

It seems to be a good book. It covers CSS1, CSS2 and CSS3 :o and browser compability issues (8 browsers including IE, Mozilla, Netscape and Opera).

The only thing is that it's a bit old (1st edition is dated early 2000). But most browsers atempt to follow these standards nowadays. With this book and W3C's Cascading Style Sheets Specifications on hands you can be happy with CSS.

Take a look to o ther books on same topic, read editorial and custumer reviews and see if this is really what you need.

Regards,
Scorphus.

And it is, Amazon's Core CSS: Cascading Style Sheets (2nd Edition) was published by Prentice Hall PTR and it is on the 2nd edition (August 29, 2003). But the 1st edition was released early 2000.
