That's because Opera 9 is the only version that has Rich Text Editor support for textboxes. You will never see it added to earlier versions of Opera. Opera 9 uses a different rendering engine so they can't backport it to earlier versions. Basically if you want it you will have to upgrade to the Opera 9.

i LOVE opera but i hate the fact taht they went to CTRL+T for new tabs. it's like they want to cater to the FF crowd but it's just an akward interface. CTRL+N is natural and the way tha it's supposed to be

i feel betrayed by the only browser that i use *sigh*

If you are adventurous you could go with one of the weekly builds.

They put one out once a week using on friday. Those are the ones I use and I just install it over the last build. I use the Classic installer as I hate the Windows MSI installer.

I agree but I understand why they are doing it. They are trying to woo some of the Firefox users into using Opera. If they don't have to change how they do things much they are more likely to try it out.

all i ask is for an over ride. that's all i want. everything else on the browser is so compliant to changes. i haven't DL'd the new one but i'm afraid to now because of this. if there is an over ride then i'm freaking out over nothing. but if it isn't then i'd have to be really frustrated to move over to 9.0 even if there are alot of nice features

Just upgraded to Opera 9. Pretty much the same so far. Of course, I wasn't expecting fireworks or anything, but I do want to test TinyMCE.

It seems that for some reason the style sheet attached to the Sherbet theme is not loading for me right now. There was no link to reply with, so I quoted myself and deleted the quotation.
