Hi.

How long would it take to get the hang of JavaScript to where you'd understand this.

I mean to me this is a bit intimadating. Does any of you feel this way. I mean if I spent a lot of studying this I'd figure it out. It uses object making which is a totally new concept to me in programming. With JavaScript there are tones of new concepts that I need to get the hang of. I've been reading Programmer to Programmer Befinning JavaScript 2nd Edition and it's a pretty thick book, but it's just the beginning. So as I look over the book I find that it just introduces you to a bite of JavaScript. This is when I realized that I need more education then this one book. So this is why I come here to confide in the user of PHPDN.

What is the best way to learn such a dynamic language, and how long would it take to not shrink at this little peice of script when looked at?

Obviouslly I have a long way to go and in need of some advice.

Thanks for reading. All help on this matter is appreciated.

It would help if the original developer added SOME FREAKING COMMENTS! Barring that, it seems a little like PHP, with my precious dollar signs.

Dunno... half a year, perhaps. After you learn your first programming language no other language should take more than that.

As a side note, learning OOP in Javascript is a very good start. Makes class-based OOP (PHP/Java/C++) look like a joke Image

Comments? Hardcore gangsta' coders don't do comments! Image

The only thing that isn't immidiately obvious in that class is what for they call o.root event handlers.
