Is there an .HTA for firefox? Is HTA updated with IE browser, i.e. when updated to IE7 HTA inherits all of IE7 upgrades?

Wow.. Umm... I'd never heard of HTA until just now.

And I have to say... It seems like Microsoft felt as though Internet Explorer had too much competition, so they attempted to create something "good" (?) that only works in IE.

That, or they're jealous that they've had to adapt to features that other browsers support, so they hoped they could start something of their own. As though owning the dominant operating system for PCs wasn't enough...

But no, from what I've read so far (and probably all I will read into this), HTA is an IE only thing. And really, anything that's only IE isn't worth anyone's time.

superdezign... if you read this article, HTA has been available since IE 5 and it is nothing new that IE has proprietary technology.

That's the only thing I have read, and from the look of it, it's been available since IE4.

I'm commenting on the fact that no other browser seems to have had much reason to adapt Microsoft's HTAs.

Edit: Well now you got me interested, and many places I've look so far exclaim that it is IE5, regardless of what I read in the article you linked me to. However, it still holds true that this is an IE only thing.

IE and Microsoft in general have a long history of implementing proprietary features that aren't available in other browsers/platforms. This is nothing new.

Yeah, you're right. I never paid much attention to what Microsoft had been doing with IE until now. I just bashed it because I'd always have to add to javascript code for something to work properly in IE.

Yeah this is nothing new. But what I asked, and I'll repeat; "Is there an .HTA for firefox?"???

How could I get an HTA for firefox? Would I need to develop my own?

Why would you want to have HTA for firefox? What is it you want to do? Maybe there are other (and better) ways to do what you want to do.
