This anchor/link fader looks great!

The only problem is that it's not compliant and thus breaks while a page is served as application/xhtml+xml. Does anyone know of a similar anchor/link fader? I specifically want the effect to continue after the mouse has left the anchor to make it more playful.

I can serve the script I have to IE users with DHTML effects enabled. I'm looking for the W3C compliant equivalent. Having two scripts would be great as it would cut down on bandwidth more so for them then me.
