audio player without a big nasty flash applet

XML, Perl, Python, and other languages can be discussed here, even if it isn't PHP (We might forgive you).

audio player without a big nasty flash applet

Post by daedalus__ »

hi, im going to make an audio player. i do not want to use flash. why? who cares? i dont want to play the ignoratio elenchi game. but anyways,

i thought about using the html5 audio element. but im not too sure about support between browsers. i know you are tempted you go "WELL INTERNET EXPLORER AND OLD FIREFOX YADA DADA" but i already thought of that!!!

so thats option one. the other two things i thought about were embedding mp3s and manipulating the object with javascript or embedding a very hidden flash applet that plays the music but is controlled using actionscript (or javascript) with the interface ive designed.

but then i ran across this thing. and similar things that are in javascript but are not designed around the audio element.
