Need to learn it for a specific contract or just looking to get a different kind of coding experience? Not really coding, though. Spoke to someone once who fancied themselves a programmer because they used VB, but never actually hand-wrote a thing themselves...

Vb does have it's uses. You can write some handy DLLs with it to serve as COM components. And it is probably the most widely-used langauge on the planet at the moment.

That said, I love PHP, but also consider having some cross=platform skills quite usefull,even if I will occaisionally try to `echo` something in ASP
or `response.write` something in PHP before I make the mental transition...
