High Server Loads??

Hey there!!

I just took the big leap and bought a server...ahh! Okay, anyways I'm having trouble with it getting a really high server load. The pages load like molassas... The site is php and mysql based and has around 100+ users on during its busiest times. From the other things I've found about it you don't want a server load over 1 and my server load has reached 13+ at times and the average load is between 4-6. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to bring my server load down?? I know I was hosting at ez-web-hosting before and on a shared server but I never had loading problems like this before. Any suggestions/comments are greatly appreciated!!!

Hi Jade,

There are so many variables in this equation that it can't be easily said what a problem may be. So...

1) What OS are you using?

2) What is the hardware?

3) What software are you running on the server?

4) Are you using any monitoring tools?

Maybe after we get some of this information we can begin to at least get an idea of where you are now.

Cheers,

those were variables, also the type of data is useful :)
