XML, Perl, Python, and other languages can be discussed here, even if it isn't PHP (We might forgive you).

Hello,
What CMS do you recommend me that has the following functions for sure:
multilanguage (for the whole site)
foldered gallery
video gallery
news with tags
social functions
There should be also a vast amount of themes to choose from.
Thank you.

What's the use case? WordPress is generally what people reach for first. Any reason that won't do? Any special considerations?

Wordpress has no multilingual function by itself. There are lots of plugins for this though, but I don't know if there is a free plugin that makes all parts of the site multilingual, not just pages, menu items, and things like that. Drupal and Joomla seems to have multilanguage function by default, but like you said, Wordpress is the most popular CMS.

We use Polylang for most of our multi-language WP sites and it works beautifully for us. Might be worth a look to see if it meets your needs.

Okay, I guess I'll use Wordpress, and give Polylang a try.
Thank you.

Should at the very least be quick to set up and evaluate. If it doesn't fit well with the project, there are plenty of other options.
