Zend Studio

Post by Nay »

Hey I have this setup:

- P4 1.7 Ghz
- 256 MB DDR RAM
- Windows XP/ RedHat 9 Dual Boot
- Apache, PHP, MySQL, Winamp, MSNMSG, Mozilla running.

Then when I launch Zend, and use it every seems to slow down. It's even worse than my Bryce 5 (psst: 3D Program). Has anyone using Zend experianced this?

- 2.0 Ghz
- 256 MB DDR RAM
- Windows XP
- Trillian, Nortons, Outlook, SmartFTP, and Explorer running.

I see a huge difference only when I am typing in functions and/or variable names, I attrivute this to the autocomplete function and auto debugging which I wish I could shut both of the off but have yet to figure out how. I type pretty fast as it is and I can type out an entire function sometimes and not see it for up to 30 seconds. Anyone know how to shut off these features?

Yeah, auto completing can be quite a hassle. I mean I'm a big heredoc fan and Zend doesn't really like heredoc jmho >_<. If I type echo <<< END then I tend to press ENTER for a new line I normaly getting up having echo <<< end(). Then if I do press Ese then Enter, I go into a indented END; at the bottom which starts throwing errors and I can't just fix it by remving the space for some reason O_o.

*snap* Can't ask about DW MX?

Well, try running Zend first of all the apps on start up to give it some resources to hog over, then other apps. Just a theory 8O.
