Windows and .htaccess

I want to create a .htaccess file in windows, but windows won't let me have the . infront. It says that I need to insert a name for the file...How can I get around this?

Try using Notepad to create the file - just remember to change save as type to 'all files' and it should be fine (was for me at least when I tested it).
