do you know what would be even more crazy

the computer comes out of the dashboard... and you can work on things outside of your car... then simply plug the computer back in whenever..

like a tape :)

ahahah, I saw the same profile icon over and over and thought it was the same person talking to himself. :roll:

That looks like an awesome car to drive around in, though. ^_^ Let's hope for long red lights ;)

Maybe not open source but you might want to check out the Microsoft Speech SDK

http://www.microsoft.com/speech/download/sdk51/

There used to be a sample app in the sdk that would do exaclty what you are talking about in that you would say a word then record a macro to go with it. It ran in the background as a service and would open apps and allow voice recognition in office.
