Hey guys. Me and my crew, got a Windows Servers 2003 Server, as well as a RedHat Linus box, each connected to the net as DNS name servers. I am new at my company, but it seems they are pretty new too. Today, a client bought a domain, so im switching the DNS to us, and going to host it. What i am wondering is, How do I setup POP3 for his domain? Is it in windows somewhere? Lets assume I will be using my windows box.. Is it simply in the admin controls in IIS? Please, some links or help would be appericated.

Decide which one of your boxes you are going to use as a mail server (i.e. Windose or Linux). Then you need to decide which mail server software you are going to use. Then go get the software and read to documentation.

Mail servers are not the easiest thing to setup, the actual complexity of setup/configuration varies dependant on the software you use, your hardware setup and you actual email needs.

To be honest, I get the impression that neither yourself or anyone at your company knows anything about mail servers, therefore it would probably be better to contract someone in to carry out at least the initial installation and setup.

Bear in mind that with Microsoft Exchange you'd be paying license fees per user...
