May be a silly question, just need confirmation ...

I have Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 running on my machine. Installing Visual Studio .NET 2005 on the same machine WITHOUT uninstalling 2003 aka running both on the same machine. Will that cause any conflicts??

I don't believe it causes any conflicts.. I haven't had any, that is.

2005 seems like it has a lot of features and takes a lot of pressure off of the coder. It also has SQL server mobile 2005 edition built into it which i wasn't aware of. Do you actively use both 2003 and 2005? Or just one?

I have tons of vis studios installed...
i got the old vis studio that had vb 6 in it.
vis studio 2003 and 2005 all installed, i do sumtimes get the odd dll conflict, but thats always been between the old one and the new ones.

Do you have or know where to get some good documentation on vis studio 2005? It's hard to find good documentation since it hasn't been out very long.

I think the only member of the VS family that causes conflicts is VS Express (The free edition that replaced Web Matrix). MSDN is probably your best bet when it comes to documentation, although the VS software CD's do have the complete documentation that is capable of installing on your machine. Just beware, when I installed it my work machine the help files and documentation took up about 1.2GB of space on my hard drive.

Yeah i know about MSDN and the help menu in VS 2005, i meant like any books that focus either on just building web applications or just building windows apps. A lot of times i find myself wasting time searching through the huge msdn base or the help section.

Zac Ruvalcaba Sitepoint book "Build Your Own ASP.NET Website Using C# & VB.NET" is a very good .NET book for building web apps. Lots of practical applications that would suit the beginner all the way to an advanced developer.
