I have an old dell dimension 2400 that i hardly use but i want to boot from the dvd-rw/reader drive i recently put in there. But i only have the option to boot from my cd-rom drive in the bios setup. How do i boot from the dvd in the dvd drive!!

Hmmm.... Not sure exactly how your mobo works but usually "CD" is ambiguos and it will try both.
If it's actually a DVD medium you want to boot from not all motherboards support that. If all else fails swap your DVD drive to the port the CD is currently on and see what happens.

Yeah that's what i was thinking that way it'll default to my dvd-rom drive rather than my cd-rom drive. You're probably right the motherboard might not support both as bootable devices although theoretically it should try both. I'll see what happens.

You might just need to change the jumpers since if they're both on the secondary IDE then swapping them over the connectors won't change anything
Anyways, I'm off to bed!
