I wrote zeros to my hard drive (twice). How could there be files in my root directory? I'm not sure what windows is talking about here. Anybody have any ideas?

Having trouble installing windows 95 (don't laugh)
I decided to download windows 95 and install it (strictly for nostalgic reasons
), and i continue to run into this error. I have a clean hard drive, not yet formatted and when the cd boots up into dos mode the instructions online told me to run the setup file. After typing setup in which to run the setup file it continously gives me this error no matter what i do: "Cannot create a temporary directory. This may be caused by too many files in the root directory".
