Links in word converting to PDF

XML, Perl, Python, and other languages can be discussed here, even if it isn't PHP (We might forgive you).

Links in word converting to PDF

Post by hawleyjr »

I have a large word document (40 pages) with links to local files. It works fine in Word however, when I convert it to PDF using Acrobat 5.0 none of the links work. They are not even links.

Does anyone know how I can create the PDF and maintain the links?

How are you converting it? By printing, all links will be removed, last I checked. With the direct conversion stuff, they are preserved.

Thanks Feyd,

What do you mean by direct conversion?

I don't recall if 5 had the plug-ins added to Word yet, but I know 7 does. Basically, there's a palette added that contains a few buttons, all of which do various conversions to PDF. The button reads the entirety of the document and converts everything to working variants in PDF.
