As part of apache, I have access_log. Said log records the IP address of every hit on my server. Some of the people in my company want me to prepare weekly reports on who is visiting the sites. My problem is that they want URLs, not IPs, and they do not want to have to look anything up. I have both Webalizer and Analog, but neither of them translate the IP addresses.
I have played with the *nix logresolve function, but it only seems to work on some of the IPs. Basically, I need to get the IPs out of access_log, translate them into URLs, and theoretically run a whois on said URL. I am trying to avoid writing anything major (well, much of anything at all).
Suggestions?
Oh, I do have phpWhois and a few other pieces of code, but they all seem to work off of URLs, which I don't have.
From access_log to urls, a journey...
