PayPal ALternative

XML, Perl, Python, and other languages can be discussed here, even if it isn't PHP (We might forgive you).

RMX tech support got back to me. Lots of bad news:

Accept non-USD international payments? No release date available, but part of a future build.

Accept credit cards on your site? No release date available, but part of a future build. Can only send/receive payments right now between RMX members.

Split check processing? Not possible. Not even on the radar.

So, they're not even worth considering.

And to think, they're owned by Steve Case, former AOL CEO. He's been working on this project for two years now, and he can't even make it happen. The guy who started PayPal was 21 when he walked into a bank with a laptop to make his pitch. Ol' Steve Case needs some balls.

AlertPay got back to me about split payments. Says it's not available at this time, but wanted me to reply back with my phone number so that the tech support guy could hear the details of the need so that they could document it and consider it.

If any of you are using PayPal, you should read what was recently posted on the web and is hitting the major tech news headlines as I write this:

http://getclicky.com/blog/120/paypal-ha ... g-about-it

The bug is still occurring and nobody is at the wheel at PayPal to fix it. Meanwhile, as you read further in that blog entry, you find that many other problems are occurring for users.

This is really terrible because PayPal is like the only flexible provider out there. I've been doing a lot of research on PayPal alternatives, and taking advice from people, but then I follow up and find limitations, hidden fees, and large costs. Some even require that people register with their service before they can even send you money! (If that's not a load of smurf, I don't know what is.)

So guys, even if you find a provider, you're going to need at least one other provider out there to fall back upon.

It's no wonder what my old friend told me about the eCommerce business. I once had a friend I asked in Raleigh about setting up my first eCommerce setup for a customer. He asked, "How much money do you wish to run through a day or month?" When I told him that it might be like $6K a month, he said, "You're better off just having it send an email to your client to check the website's admin system for a new purchase, and then he logs in on https to a secure page and processes the transactions manually using a handheld credit card processor. At least with that you can control the behavior, weed out the scams, handle chargebacks easier, and so on."

Looks either alpha, or they build it and integrate it all for you at an expensive cost.

I came across SWREG. They have new pricing for 0% (http://usd.swreg.org/zeropercentecommerce.htm) and meet your requirements.
