I did the price check at least for the USA. It looks like, at best...

$731.58 USD

...and I don't know if that's per month or per week.

And from what I've heard from reporters (I think it was on Slate.com last year?), you go there and live in like slave-like conditions, you live in barrack bunkbeds and squalor, and have to take a LOT of abuse. No thanks. Read up on this one before you decide.

Take for instance a friend of mine who worked in NYC as a web developer. He was trying to hit a difficult bank deadline and was working from 8am to 11pm day in and out, and even weekends, for two weeks straight. His boss was in Hong Kong and over the phone he said, "You Americans are so lazy!!! People here work 15 hours straight. No break!" So, as you can see, if that's a snapshot of China, and often I hear it is, then they don't have the old work/life balance thing worked out yet, even with all of Confucius' and Buddha's words of wisdom.
