SEO Consultant

Post by mikemike »

So, I've had an idea. Basically I'm often being asked in work to write reports on web sites on how to improve their SEO rank. It then allows the sales team to go away and sell more services to our clients. Clients are happy as their web site makes more money, sales team are happy as they earn more commission and my work is happy as they get more work in.

Each report is quite thorough but as I've written so many they only take me about an hour. I know what the best practices are to get sites up in the top ranks and keep them there, and have proven results for some very competitive keywords.

I've released a new site / service:
SEO Consultants

I know there are a lot of people who do freelance web stuff here and a lot of people who work for web development agencies. If an agency or developer wants to contact me about an affiliation scheme then I'm always interested. I will give you a share of each report price you send through to me and you'll also make money from the changes to your clients' websites as a result of the report.

:)

Sounds good to me. In terms of SEO, I mainly specialize in what I consider "Design Porting". I am quite good at taking a table based layout, or a non-optimized layout, and re-creating it with proper semantic tagging such as headers, removing tables for all but tabular data, making navigation visible to search engines, etc. Maybe you'll find this interesting because it's a pretty basic form of SEO, but can be tedious, and lots of people don't like doing it.

I don't actually do the SEO changes, I complile a report outlining exactly what needs to be do. It's consultancy, not development.

The things you've described are all part and parcel of the report.

Do you have any sample reports? I'm only interested because people are always asking me SEO questions. If it is something they could work directly from I could refer them.

I don't really want to be giving example reports out as a lot of the points for one site might be replicated away for other sites.

The reports are quite easy to follow if you have some experience with web technologies (HTML and the like).
