Hi,

I had hired a PHP developer to develope my website (http://www.usedstuffmarket.com). But, he left the project before fixing few bugs on the site.
The total hours to fix these bugs won't be more than 4 hours. You might need to wourk on php and javascript.

Please send me an e-mail at ownusm@yahoo.com if interested. I am willing to pay a decent amount (if not high), if anybody can do this for me.

Thanks,
ownusm@yahoo.com

Working with code you've never seen before takes a lot longer than working with code you're familiar with. You need to learn the data structure, design, object mapping etc before you're productive. What might have taken the person who wrote the code 4 hours could well take a new developer several days.

Be wary of people who say they can fix a site they've never worked on before very quickly. They're hacking the code rather than developing a proper solution.

Also, looking at the HTML and design, I reckon it needs a good deal more than 4 hours work before it'll be a usable, working and successful site. There are significant usability problems, it looks amateurish, and the design is a mess that will work as a barrier to search engines.

Listen I don't want to sound condescending or anything, I'm just being honest here. I think this is a prime example of what happens when you take a site that should cost at least $30,000+ to build and bid it out to guys working offshore who claim they can clone ebay for $200. Not only is this website useless, but the programmer bailed on you as well.

What happened to you is about to happen to this guy, who wants a clone of http://www.alibaba.com/

You really do get what you pay for. You can consider the money you paid for what you've got lost. I'd recommend a complete rebuild.

LOL.

Like the above mentioned, this is a complete and perfect example of the price / labor issues.
