Quick question. I need a (or 2) php programmers to finish a project. Should take 4-5 days hard programming and an hour here and there after for minor adjustments.
I do not know where to start looking and and a startup, I do not have the money to post to dice or other services like that.

Suggestions?

Thanks

Christopher

Just wondering, why "San Francisco" specifically? Seems like you're excluding 99.98% of the freelancers of the world.

San Franciscans need the work. Trust me, I just left to come to New York because the job market here beats out San Francisco by quite a bit. That said, I do promote telecommuting. It can allow for a better contract to contractor match, but regardless check out craigslist.org for posting jobs and searching for contracters. You'll get many more applicants than you'll need. Craig started it in San Francisco, but it now covers a good amount of the world for such a simple/community based site.

Why San Francisco

Telecommuting is fine sometimes, but it is nice to be able to discuss and demonstrate a project face-to-face.

Videoconferencing can always simulate that, for those of us who talk with a lot of body language and like actually seeing people's expressions. Not exactly like sitting at a computer with someone, but you can get fairly close to it these days without a lot of effort or money.

And if you really like to meet face-to-face you can always use it as an excuse to fly somewhere and visit friends or just escape for a bit. I'd love to; I work for someone in Florida right now.
