SALARY: A21; Exempt; $40,000-$45,000 per year, DOE + benefits package

WORK SCHEDULE: FT; Mon – Fri; 8am-5pm
Serves as a key stakeholder in the Web development team. Primarily focused on back-end Web development and the continued development of the university's content management system. Reports to the Director of Web Development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead in the delivery and maintenance of all public-facing Web pages.
- Make recommendations regarding emerging Web trends and possible improvements to the current architecture.
- Lead in the development and maintenance of complex client Web sites.
- Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Serve as a liaison to Information and Technology Services staff in developing in-house Web applications.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative.
- Ability to adapt and incorporate new technologies and tools into the work environment.
- Expert understanding of PHP, familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Django or other Web related programming languages.
- Ability to write functioning, cross-browser code in JavaScript.
- Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 2 years of Web Development experience in a professional setting.
2. High school diploma or GED.
3. Finalist candidates will be asked to present a portfolio of three to five Web projects that demonstrate a strong understanding of programming principles.
4. Finalist candidate must satisfactorily complete pre-employment background check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, communications, public relations or related field.
- Experience as both a project manager and a supervisor.
- Strong working knowledge of XML and performing XML Transformations (XSLT) via JavaScript.
- History of developing applications with Ruby on Rails, Django.
- Familiarity with MVC architecture and Web Services.
- Hands-on experience with Subversion or other version management systems.
