I need some help regarding securing my website. It was built on an old Joomla version and seems to be continually hacked.

I am willing to pay someone for this who has experience and is trustworthy.

Please PM me.

Thanks.

David

That's the first bit of advice you'll get: upgrade. Newer versions aren't just shinier but are more secure.

Hi,

If I were you I would seriously consider whether you really want to make any further investment of time and/or money in that platform - Joomla! has always been insecure, even when running the latest versions, so this would seemingly be a good opportunity to at least weigh up the benefits of using it compared with something else. I realise my opinion isn't exactly empirical but this is an honest, reasonably impartial assessment - Joomla! has run its course now and there are lots of much better open source applications available that are secure and easy to develop for. The number of very old Joomla! sites still out there leads me to think that people either can't upgrade the software even if they want to, or else they can't find anyone to do it for them. And before any Joomla! fanboys start flaming me for casting aspersions on their beloved CMS platform, just keep in mind that it's not only *developers* but also *their clients* that have to work with it - non-technical users can generally pick-up basic WordPress skills with a couple of hours of training and a few follow-up emails, whereas with Joomla! it's a completely different story.

I'll just add that according to their portfolio page Leonardo Di Caprio uses Joomla!, and the less said about that the better
