Storm Creative Media are looking for a full-time PHP developer to join our expanding digital production team.

Projects at Storm vary from large scale e-commerce websites and CMS-powered showcase websites, to Facebook-powered competitions and social networking applications.

You will need to be enthusiastic, proactive and passionate about the web - as well as having strong problem solving abilities, understanding of web development practises and a drive to learn new technologies. You'll enjoy collaborating as a team, be approachable by developers and designers and actively provide insight into current web trends. Clean and reusable code is at the core of our principles, therefore we would expect you to share these views with us.

There will be times when you will need to liaise directly with clients – in person, over the phone and by email, so outstanding communication skills are also a must.

We are looking for someone with experience in the following:

- MVC/Object-Oriented PHP
- Relational database driven development

- Experience and knowledge of developing e-commerce shopping cart's and an understanding of the complexities that lie behind them
- Comfortable with integrating third party API's
- Mobile development - knowledge of abilities and constraints that mobiles are able to handle
- Strong experience with Javascript is a must. All our web applications rely on the foundations of Javascript to power the interactions and data presented to it's users.
- Understanding of cross browser limitations and the affect these can put on development.

- Version control (We use GIT)
- A strong understanding of HTML and it's structuring.
- Strong use of the command line

ADMIRABLE:

- Exposure to JavaScript libraries such as: Backbone, RequireJS
- HTML/CSS - comfortably taking a design and coding it up (Mobile first etc.)
- BEM and other OOCSS methodologies
- Front-end cross browser fixes
- CSS pre-processors (Compass/Sass)
- Use of Adobe Illustrator/Fireworks
- A strong interest in the web community outside of the workplace.
- A GitHub account that actively has experimental code deployed to it.

Salary is negotiable depending on what skills you have and the skills you're missing. But don't worry if you feel like you don't "tick all the boxes", you may have enough for us to find a place for you in our team! Remember, we are looking for both entry-level juniors - with an eagerness to expand their knowledge and ability - as well as experienced senior developers - looking for a challenge and the chance to lead their own team of developers.

Interested? If you think you have the right skills and you’d like to apply for this role, simply send your CV and ideally some examples of your programming/code/work to digitalmedia@stormcreative.co.uk
