Hi,

I'm a programmer currently working for myself at the moment, because I'm finding it hard to find a job (here in the UK). Please find my resume: http://www.xmlmania.com/aboutme/Curriculum-Vitae.doc Any feedback is welcomed.

My last job was Microsoft Access/SQL Server programming with VBA... which I didn't enjoy :(. Do i have a good skill-set? I know my age is a major concern.

Thanks!

It’s been a while since I have had to do a resume but you really shouldn't put your DOB on a resume. (I'm not sure about the UK but in the US it's illegal to ask; unless you are under the age of 18) Unless you are looking for a graphics job, kill the graphics. They are too small to see and take away from what is important; you! It is good that you put your experience first, especially with no college level courses. However, your experience talks about the company not what you did for them. If the interviewer wants to know about a specific company, tell them but save it for the interview. When listing experience use key words like "teamwork" and "accomplished" or "achieved", "results", "increased revenue" these words will be noticed when over viewing a candidate. Talk about what you did, how you worked in a team environment and achieved goals. Personally I would list your skills above your experience; typically this is the first thing that is looked at. Shorten you resume down to one page. I have never in my life looked at the second page of a resume; especially if I have a stack of 200 to look through.

If you want revise and I'll look over it again.
