PHP Programmer required

Post by jl »

In brief I have a large PHP project that I'm working on and it's getting to the stage where it needs more than one developer to keep it growing smoothly so I'm looking to get someone else familiar with the project and starting to work on small additions, bug fixes, etc.

These are the qualities I'm looking for:

- Seasoned programmer, very comfortable with OO programming principles
- Good experience of development on LAMP & postgresql. Linux admin experience useful
- Excellent communication skills a must, and ability to professionally converse directly with my clients should need arise.
- Commited programmer, with time available. You must program full time, and be available for the long term. This will not be a lot of work immediately, but ideally in the future you'll take over what I'm doing now.
- Ability to interpret other peoples' code useful, and to proactively take an interest in improving existing code, adding new features and using new/better technologies where relevant
- Good experience of other web technolgies helpful (e.g. js, css, etc.)

If you're interested, please send me some example of your code (the more the better), some idea of your rates, and contact information. PM me for email.

Thanks,

jl

I'm in the UK, don't care where or what time zone/hours the programmer works, but I'll reiterate I'm looking for a professional programmer, someone doing PHP jobs for a couple of hours every week or just in their spare time isn't ideal, but all situations will be considered. EST is a small advantage.

After my review of programmer's existing work and other details I'll be sending examples of the existing code base of the main project for comment/review of programmer before progressing to make sure they're comfortable with the current state of the project. NDA may be required depending on how much code I choose to disclose.
